Great Performance by Balàfia Chess Club (Lleida) at the Golmés Tournament

👋 Hello everyone!

Last Sunday, August 9th, 3 players from our club in Balàfia (Lleida) played in the Golmés Chess Tournament. ♟️✨

📍 Event details:

👥 Attendance: Almost 70 players, including over 30 unrated players (a huge success! 🎉).
❄️ Venue: Air-conditioned sports hall.
⚡ Time control: 5 minutes + 3 seconds increment per move.
🏆 Level: Highly competitive, featuring players rated over 2400 ELO.

The tournament was won by Joan Trepat, seed No. 1, with an impressive 9 out of 9!

♟️ Performance of Balàfia Chess Club players:

🌱 Fran: Debuted in his very first tournament and won 2 games. A great start!
🥈 Cesc: Played a solid tournament, scoring 4.5 out of 9 and securing 2nd place in Rating Category E. Huge congratulations! 👏
🔥 Ricard: Scored 7 out of 9 and finished 4th in the overall standings (tied for 2nd and 3rd place).
