Summary of Torneig Social d’Estiu 2025
In an atmosphere of focus and sportsmanship, the 5-minute finish rapid chess tournament brought together a wide range of players, from high-level federated competitors to enthusiastic amateurs who demonstrated remarkable talent on the board.
A success in participation and collaboration
The event featured the notable presence and involvement of neighboring clubs such as Pardinyes, Lleida, and Alcoletge, who contributed strong players that raised the competitive level and enriched the tournament. From Club d’Escacs Balàfia, we sincerely thank them for their participation and look forward to sharing the board with them in future editions.
Outstanding players
The overall winner of the day was Dídac Gómez González, who scored 6.5 points and secured first place, tied in points with Ricard Bringué, who finished second based on tiebreaks. Both delivered an excellent tournament, showing consistency and intensity in every game.
The best local player was Daniel Cosialls, who scored 5 points and showed a high level of play and consistency. Meanwhile, the best non-federated player was Cesc Bosch Bringué, who earned 3.5 points and finished in the middle of the standings — a great achievement considering the tournament’s difficulty.
We must also highlight Tània Nadal Pont, who with 3 points became the top female player, confirming her strong form and ability to compete confidently against any opponent.
A commitment to the future
From Club d’Escacs Balàfia, we want to congratulate all participants, especially the non-federated players, who brought energy, passion, and excellent play. We encourage them to continue joining events and tournaments, as they are a fundamental part of the growth and promotion of chess in our region.
With strong participation and a vibrant sporting atmosphere, this summer’s tournament was a complete success. We continue working to make this event a must-attend on Lleida’s summer chess calendar.
After the tournament, we went out for a club dinner, where we shared stories, enjoyed good conversations, and celebrated a great day of chess together.
Acknowledgments
This tournament would not have been possible without the support of our collaborators, to whom we extend our sincerest thanks: Ajuntament de Lleida, Diputació de Lleida, Associació de Veïns de Balàfia, and Dona Balàfia. Their ongoing support is essential to the growth of chess in our neighborhood and city.
