Weekend of Success for Club d’Escacs Balàfia in Palau d’Anglesola and Bellpuig

We are delighted after another weekend full of strength, passion, and strategy on the chessboard. Our players once again shone, proving that the driving force of our club is dedication, teamwork… and the talent of each and every one of you.

Saturday: a brilliant start in Palau d’Anglesola

At the Blitz Chess Tournament – Palau d’Anglesola 2025, our representatives made their mark once again. The Balàfia participants were:

Ricard Bringue Gonzalez
Gemma Bringue Fernandez
Cesc Bosch Bringuè

That means 3 Balàfia players competed on Saturday.

After 8 intense rounds:

Ricard Bringue Gonzalez delivered an outstanding performance with 6.5 points, securing a brilliant 3rd place.

Saturday was a day full of learning and strategic reinforcement for the whole team. Every game, every opening was a lesson for the future.

Sunday: titles, heroics, and a rising youth squad

In the Josep M. Roselló Memorial – Bellpuig 2025 Rapid Tournament – Absolute Section, Balàfia’s players were:

Ricard Bringue Gonzalez
Miguel A. Vicente Oliva
Miquel Vicente Casaseca

That makes 3 Balàfia players on Sunday.

And what a day it was!

Ricard Bringue Gonzalez once again crowned himself absolute champion of the tournament with 7.5 points, leading with authority.
Miguel A. Vicente Oliva achieved an epic draw in round 4 against the tournament’s top seed — a display of determination that inspired everyone and showed that with effort no opponent is unbeatable.

In the promotion tournament, our youth also shone:

Joan Vicente earned an excellent 2nd place in a very competitive 10-player league — congratulations on your consistency.
Alongside him, our young talents Gemma Bringue Fernández, Cesc Bosch Bringuè, and Nina Bringuè Fernández gave their all and continue to be an inspiration to the whole club.
