Great away victory for Balàfia: 3.5 – 4.5 against Ivars d’Urgell
The 2026 Catalan Chess League, in the First Provincial Division of Lleida, continues with highly competitive rounds involving some of the most active chess clubs in the region. In this context, the Balàfia Chess Club from Lleida is showing strong consistency and excellent team spirit.
In Round 4, Balàfia achieved an important away victory against Ivars d’Urgell, winning by 3.5 – 4.5 after a very close and hard-fought match.
The games were long and demanding, with moments of high tension, where preparation, focus and fighting spirit proved decisive. Winning away from home is always especially valuable in such a competitive league.
With this result, Balàfia moves into second place in the standings, just half a point behind the leader, keeping strong chances to fight for the top positions in the First Provincial Division of Lleida.
